FEATURES:

Location is everything. This perfectly located wine farm, with easy access to all arterial roads, makes travel easy. It is located 18 km from Cape Town International Airport, 24 km to Somerset West, and 12 kilometers from Stellenbosch, does not only offer you a view of Table Mountain, but the cooler False Bay breezes, also decrease temperatures with 3 - 4° degrees Celsius.

The terroir also includes granite soil, with rainfalls of 650 – 700mm’s rain annually. It lies in a bit of a valley, that offers protection from the often-vicious Southeast wind, from the False Bay coast. Harvests deliver 700 – potentially 1200 tonnes of grapes.

The cultivars include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinotage, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Colombard, and Sauvignon Blanc, all under irrigation. The age of the vines ranges from 8 – 30 years, the oldest being the Cabernet, which can be re-planted.

Currently, the harvest is taken to the award-winning Stellenbosch Hills wine cellar in the Vlottenburg district of the Stellenbosch Winelands, where multi-generational farming skills and total passion for wine-making, create award-winning wines. There are currently 15 producer members. Surrounding wine farms includes, Polkadraai, Skilpadvlei, Saxenburg, Meerlust and others.

There are two dams, with the potential of another smaller dam, Theewaterskloof scheme water, as well as a borehole, water in abundance. The farm also has a 450m² spacious home, where you will always have an eye on Table Mountain, with a pool for the warm summer days to relax in, as well as the original homestead, that can be restored to its former glory, next to the stores. The household water for the main house is supplied by the Stellenbosch Municipality and power is supplied by Eskom.

Stellenbosch is the most famous wine-producing area in South Africa. The town as well as wine farms, are steeped in history and culture, home of world-renowned wines. Stellenbosch is also known for the internationally acclaimed University of Stellenbosch, which gives a vibrant atmosphere to the delightful array of restaurants, world-famous chefs, wine bars, pavement eateries, museums, and heritage buildings, offering the best there is to offer in the Winelands. This is farm living, with all the convenience of being close to town.
