The South African Institute of Auctioneers exists to maintain a professional and ethical industry. The industry remains to be officially regulated, but our Board of Directors monitors and regulates the industry within our own legal capacity.
You are reminded that SAIA is the auction industry’s regulator in accordance to its ethical conduct and not law enforcement to preside over disputes.
The core function of SAIA to uphold the good business practice amongst credible auctioneers, eradicate rogue elements within the auction industry and educate auctioneers and the public with regard to accepted business practice in accordance with its Code of Conduct.
SAIA is ‘not’ a court of law, however if a member is found guilty of misconduct or malpractice by the Public Protector and/or other Institutions or legal counsel, SAIA will act accordingly and administer the appropriate action as the case may be.
We invite you to submit your complaint. We will assist, guide and - where possible - arbitrate your grievances so that a resolution is reached as swiftly as possible.
