Waterbak to camps N15, N16, N17 & N22 receive fresh water from the Kloof stream via concrete distribution box. Note: Camps N28, N29, N30, N31 are not used for grazing animals due to stock theft risk. • 2 X Water Supplies: o Main supply from the stream running of the mountain and is partially diverted into a brick sump, through a screen and then though a PVC pipe into the250 000litre concrete reservoir (30m above houses) ? The sump is in the reserve and fenced off from the farm. (water certificate gives permission for this offtake) ? Storage of water in the concrete reservoir results in dissolved iron settling out and thus provides top quality water to the houses (tested by Bemlab) ? Water that flows past the brick sump continuous down the ravine and into the big dam. ? A pressure gauge on garage wall indicates the water pressure from the big dam. ? 5 x 5000L plastic tans above concrete reservoir which serves as temporary system to the concrete dam for cleaning / servicing the concrete dam. ? Concrete dam & green tanks all enclosed with fence to keep cattle from damaging pipes and fittings. ? Fresh water pipeline offtakes: • 2 offtake positions protected by concrete walls which serve to protect the valves/fittings from falling oak branches and cattle. • Offtake 1 – just below the Kloof gate • Offtake 2 – under oak tree o Second water supply comes from a spring ± 50 metres into a farm and flows into a sump at the boundary fence. ?
